The Retail Derivative Forum is the only industry body focused on transaction reporting for Retail brokers who offer contract for difference (CFD) or spread bet products.

The RDF is formed of Retail brokers offering CFD products, consultants who are subject matter experts in this field, or vendors to faciliate the reporting.

The group meet frequently to discuss topical items impacting the CFD industry.

Background

The RDF was jointly founded by Rav Saidha and Barry Allen in 2017 after witnessing the pain and ambiguity firms in the CFD industry were facing during the build up of MiFIR.

What started as initially a few firms grew over the years, and the RDF now has 40 firms (official Members and observers) in attendance made up of key Retail brokers, consultants and vendors, who together, take a view on what they believe regulators are expecting firms to be doing within their transaction reports.

The RDF covers regulations across the globe, including MiFIR (UK+EU), EMIR (UK+EU), ASIC, MAS and CIRO. Over time, the RDF has responded to various consultation papers and formed best practice papers.
